What we do
Thank you for your interest in Guardscreen, a network composed of security services companies and companies which employ in-house security officers. WE DON'T CONDUCT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS; We compile and maintain a database of security officers' employment histories for use by the member companies in screening their applicants.
One of the major reasons Guardscreen came into existence was to meet a need that the states could not: we enable companies to be able to exchange employment information on security officers in a timely and efficient manner, even when the applicant leaves that information off his application. It is at this initial application stage that vital information which is critical to your hiring decision is most needed. If your applicants are leaving previous security employments off their applications in order to cover problems or terminations, you have no way to know about it. Our database gives you this information and keeps what you don't know from hurting you.

If you're thinking that the screening processes you use for background investigations are adequate, think about this: almost every employment background investigation starts with information that the applicant provides. That's kind of like asking the fox to provide references on how able he is to guard the henhouse, isn't it?

What sets the Guardscreen network apart (and makes us better than any company which claims to verify previous employment) is that, unlike any other method of employment verification, we don't rely on the application for employment information, AND WE DON'T CONDUCT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS.  Unlike a security service company, we operate under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and, unlike any generalist company, we have a database that includes both employer reports and official agency information.

Our system is simple. In addition to all the forms the applicant fills out for you, he/she will also fill out a Guardscreen registration and authorization form. Simply fax the form to Guardscreen after your applicant has filled it out. With the constraints of your staff's time in mind, there's almost else nothing for your staff to do.

Guardscreen's database now has over 260,000 entries concerning security officers. As time goes on, and more companies either go out of business (leaving you unable to verify employment) or are absorbed by bigger companies, Guardscreen will be the only repository for this information, making us even more invaluable to you. By being able to cross state lines, we offer a service which no state were municipality can.
